Niykee is a song writer that, in spite of her recent hectic career, has kept her routine. Some of her personal highlights been being selected by Snoop dogg to be his sidekick at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. Her songwriting routine is now an inspiration to hopeful producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and finds many that spark ideas. "I'll be able tell in the first five seconds whether it's a great beat. When I've got a tune in my mind, I will start writing immediately." I go out to my back porch with my guitar and the words just come and usually it's finished in just thirty minutes. Niykee says that as she matures as a singer-songwriter, the painful memories of her childhood are an source of inspiration. It's hard to avoid memories that are painful from my youth, especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting integrated into her music. This influences my music and helps to create this greater meaning under everything which is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I could listen to any of my music 20 years from now and still be happy with what I had to say.
