Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. Biles is believed to be one of the most outstanding athletes. At the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals at the same Games and she was the first gymnast to win three consecutive all-around world championships (2013-15). Biles was born within Spring Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. Her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was interested in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl during a day-care field trip at Bannon's Gymnastix and she remained there for 11 years, under supervision of instructor Aimee Boorman. Biles was awarded a gold medal in floor exercise and a bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the elite level of competition in 2011. Two years later, she was the most dominant athlete in the field. Her consistency, her vivacious character and her high level of challenge in her four events -vault uneven bars balance beam floor workout and floor exercise -- set her apart.
